About Us
Growing Community Mission Statement
Our Mission: To advocate for sustainable gardens in low income communities, connect partners, provide education, and share resources in order to:
- Increase community food security and improve access to healthy food;
- Increase awareness and participation of agricultural and environmental movement;
- Protect and improve the quality of our neighborhoods;
- Strengthen community involvement in the production of our food supply;
- Provide employment to marginalize individuals.
Good for Everyone
The Community Gardens are used as our classrooms, social gathering spots and our workrooms. The gardens themselves then become very sacred places that teach all of us patients, to care for something outside ourselves, hard work and accomplishment. We also get to witness the beautiful cycle of life, death and rebirth. These things we past to the next generation.

To assist the community in taking control of
our own food supply and provide a healing
space that will foster and promote an urban
sustainable culture of independents and self
reliance.
